"It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I write to you about Ms. Dee Gardner’s passion and ability as a school security officer, connector, and leader within our ACE at Highland Springs school building. I have had the privilege of working with Ms. Dee for three years at our ACE Center, where she has served as a pillar in our community. During this time, I was consistently impressed by her abilities as a professional, while also being a connector and staff member of guidance all throughout the school. Ms. Dee excels at her job as a security officer. She ensures that our students know that they are welcomed and belong in our building, while also holding them to high standards. She forms great relationships with students by being present each day with a positive outlook. Students feel safe and trusted around Ms. Dee because she fulfills her duty as a trusted adult that cares about their lives–while also being our security officer. She consistently asks students about their day, their future, and what they need to be successful.
"Staff members know and trust Ms. Dee because of similar reasons. She is able to form relationships and communicate well with all different departments throughout the building. Ms. Dee often connects staff members and solves issues before they happen. Additionally, when situations do arise, Ms. Dee offers solution-oriented communication and problem solving in order to benefit our school and students. To put it simply, Ms. Dee is Henrico County Public Schools and deserves the 'Yay of the Day' recognition. She also works security at sporting events, school board meetings, and other HCPS related events. Her dedication to HCPS as well as its staff and students is truly unmatched."
Thank you for all you do, Dee, to make a positive difference and move HCPS forward!
