YAY JERMAINE JAMES! Jermaine "J.J." James, a lead custodian at Hungary Creek Middle School, is today's Yay of the Day honoree! Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored him recently at Hungary Creek!

YAYWORTHY:

His nominator, principal Beth Terrier said,

"He consistently goes above and beyond to support our school community. J.J.'s dedication, hard work, and positive attitude ensure that our school is a welcoming and beautiful place for students, staff and visitors each day. In addition to his outstanding work as our lead custodian, he takes time to build meaningful relationships with students and staff, making everyone feel valued and supported. His commitment to excellence and genuine care for others embody the values of belonging, collaboration and student-centered support.

"A specific example of a time this person made a positive impact is the work he completed throughout the summer to prepare our school for the start of the year. Thanks to his diligence and attention to detail, our building was spotless and ready to welcome students and families on the first day. Visitors frequently comment on the cleanliness of our school and the beautifully waxed floors. Beyond preparing the facility, J.J. makes a daily impact by checking in with students, offering encouragement and greeting them with fist bumps. These simple but meaningful interactions help students feel connected, seen and cared for, contributing to a positive school culture."

Thank you for all you do, J.J., to make a positive difference and move HCPS forward!
