Free backpacks, family resources, parent workshops and carnival fun the whole family will love! Henrico County Public Schools’ annual Back-to-School Kickoff returns Saturday, Aug. 15, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Henrico Sports & Events Center to get students, families and staff ready for the 2026-27 school year!
All students and families across Henrico County are invited for the free day of festivities, which will include:
Carnival-style games and activities for all ages
Live entertainment
Free backpacks and school supplies (while supplies last)
Opportunities to meet and talk with school leaders, teachers and community organizations
Resources to prepare students and families for the first day of school
Vaccinations for rising seventh and 12th graders
