Allie Wertz with Elizabeth Holladay Elementary School

YAY ALLIE WERTZ! Allie Wertz, a Title I instructional coach at Elizabeth Holladay Elementary School, is today's "Yay of the Day" honoree! Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored her recently at Holladay.

YAYWORTHY:

Nominator Dawn Johns said,

"Ms. Wertz's tireless effort reaches far beyond the faculty and students she works with on a daily basis. During school hours, she acts as a reading coach and collaborator to help all those she works with. Once the school day is over, she still impacts our school community as our PTA president. While Ms. Wertz has so much on her plate, she radiates a positive energy that influences me to be a better educator.

"When I reached out to get some advice on how to structure reading rotations in my classroom, Ms. Wertz took time out of her busy afternoon to meet with me and help. Not only did she collaborate with me on creating the rotations, she came in to help when I rolled out the rotations. Whenever I have ever needed anything — a resource, a lesson modeled or ideas — Ms. Wertz has been there".

Thank you for all you do, Allie Wertz, to make a positive difference and move HCPS forward!
