YAY MISSY SCHLOMANN! Missy Schlomann, a school counselor at Varina High School, is today's "Yay of the Day" honoree! Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored her recently at Varina.
YAYWORTHY:
Nominator Jen Darsie said,
"Any project Ms. Schlomann takes on, she makes it bigger and better than its original intent. She's kept the calendar full with college rep visits for seniors and has taken on coordinating an afterschool program that provides intentional and fun activities for students. She has also helped me bring a peer mentoring program into fruition (something I've wanted to do for a few years), and with her vision and passion has grown to include service opportunities and peer tutoring for students. Ms. Schlomann cares deeply about all our students and staff, and is always looking for ways to make Varina better for all. I am so grateful for Ms. Schlomann!"
Nominator E’yahna Simmons Powell said,
"She’s such a nice person, she helped me get through my toughest time in 11th grade and made an impact on me continuing to 12th grade so I can graduate in May."
Thank you for all you do, Missy Schlomann, to make a positive difference and move HCPS forward!
