Claire Sutton with Springfield Park Elementary School

YAY CLAIRE SUTTON! Claire Sutton, a permanent substitute at Springfield Park Elementary School, is today's "Yay of the Day" honoree! Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored her recently at Springfield Park.

YAYWORTHY:

Nominator Lori Marks said,

"Claire is an absolute 'YAY' of SUNSHINE at the Park! She brightens everyone's day, every day! She could literally fill any shoes in the building at any time with an unwavering amount of energy, positivity and enthusiasm! To know her is to be in awe of her as she is a true role model to students and staff alike.

"The list is very long but I would say for me her most positive impact is when she helps take my vision of a school-wide activity to another level. My favorite was when she played the part of Confetti Betty in the Kids Heart Challenge Assembly. She was a little girl who always dreamed of winning the local Bakersfield Bake Off contest. She was on track to win but soon found herself in a predicament. Her opponent needed help only she could provide but it was at the risk of losing the beautiful blue ribbon. She ultimately did the right thing and helped her opponent. She ended up winning that ribbon because of her kindness! This was a very special and meaningful message for all of our Springers. It wasn't hard for her to play this part as this is who she is in real life!"

Thank you for all you do, Claire Sutton, to make a positive difference and move HCPS forward!
