YAY LOREN JOHNSON! Loren Johnson, the SUCCESS teacher and head football coach at Highland Springs High School, is today's "Yay of the Day" honoree! Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored him recently at Highland Springs.

"He pours into his student athletes not only as a coach but as a mentor, caring deeply for their academic, emotional and personal success.
"When Coach Johnson took the time to acknowledge and honor his top academically performing students in front of the entire team. By doing this, he set the tone that being a strong student off the field is just as important as being a great player on the field. My son came home yesterday with a very thoughtful gift recognizing his hard work in the classroom and being among the top three for academic performance on the team. Coach Johnson sees all of his players and intentionally speaks to their gifts and talents. In today’s world where life can be difficult for young people, he reminds them that they are capable of greatness! Thank you, Coach Johnson!"
