HCPS’ Department of School Nutrition Services is currently hiring for managers and assistant managers in our cafeterias who play leading roles in keeping 50,000 students fed and thriving as learners. School Nutrition Services staff members enjoy the perks of school hours — evenings, weekend and holidays off — plus job security and stability — kids will always need lunch, and you’re the one making it happen. The minimum salary for these positions begins at $34,417 per year.
Candidates for these School Nutrition Services roles should have:
· Experience with quality cooking and operating a commercial or institutional kitchen.
· Knowledge of food service equipment operation.
· Ability to perform basic mathematical functions, maintain accurate records and handle currency.
· Strong communication skills and ability to work well with others.
· Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds and work in a warm environment.
· High school diploma or GED, plus at least one year of experience in food service.
