YAYWORTHY:

Nominator Corey Calder said,

"Ms. Smith wears many hats and wears them all with excellence. She supports every teacher in the building, with a special focus on our first-year teachers. Her dedication shows — Mr. McWalters shared that the support he received from Jenny in his first year made it possible for him to start this school year strong and confident. But Jenny doesn’t stop at mentoring — she also teaches English classes, modeling high-quality instruction and engaging students with passion and care. When I spoke with her students, they described her as caring, nice, supportive and quite simply — THE BEST!

"As the English administrator, I’ve had the pleasure of watching Jenny guide and strengthen our growing ELA PLCs. She constantly brings fresh, engaging ideas that uplift our instruction and energize our team. Her influence is woven into everything we do. Truthfully, I couldn’t do this work at Elko without her. Her flexibility, teamwork, and willingness to roll up her sleeves to work with teachers makes a visible and lasting impact every single day. Thank you, Jenny, for being a shining example of leadership, dedication and heart."

Thank you for all you do, Jenny Smith, to make a positive difference and move HCPS forward!
