YAY BERNARD JEFFERSON! Bernard Jefferson, a school security officer at Springfield Park Elementary School, is today's "Yay of the Day" honoree! Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored him recently at Springfield Park.

Nominator Breann Staples-Mihalkovic said,
"He is new to our school this year, and already, tons of our staff have nothing but kind things to say about him. He doesn’t hesitate to assist when a student or staff member needs support, whether that be behaviorally or emotionally. He has a calm and soothing presence and makes it known that he is available to us all.
"When he provided kindness and understanding to a little boy who needed extra attention during a transition. He also made sure to offer himself as part of that student’s circle of support in the event he needed help in the future."
