YAY RICH ASHBURN! Rich Ashburn, an impact coordinator with Family and Community Engagement, is today's "Yay of the Day" honoree — our first for the 2025-26 school year! Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored him recently.

"Rich deserves a Yay of the Day for being a constant source of support, collaboration and positivity across the FACE team. He actively partners with internal and external stakeholders to meet the needs of students and families and his work — from activating impact committees to building connections — truly reflects the mission of HCPS.
"This summer, Rich led the initiative to secure all backpacks for HCPS' Back-to-School Kickoff. He engaged multiple community partners and drove a box truck throughout the county to gather more than 1,200 backpacks and school supplies, recruited volunteers and secured funds to support future school supply needs. Equally impactful, Rich followed up with families who did not receive a backpack on the day of the event by setting up distribution hubs and delivering items directly to schools — ensuring students and families had what they needed to start the school year off strong."
