HENRICO, Va., Sept. 16, 2025 — The Henrico School Board is seeking input on possible adjustments to school boundaries within Henrico County Public Schools and will hold three town hall meetings to provide scenarios and receive feedback from the community before making a final decision.

Families, staff and community members are invited to attend these town hall meetings hosted by the School Board: 

  • Thursday, Sept. 18: 7-9 p.m. at J.R. Tucker High School (2910 N. Parham Road)

  • Tuesday, Sept. 30: 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Highland Springs High School (200 S. Airport Drive)

  • Tuesday, Oct. 7: 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the ACE Center at Hermitage (8350 Hermitage High Blvd.)

Interpretive services will be available during the town hall meetings for Spanish, Arabic, Dari and sign language speakers.

Along with the town hall events, the School Board is soliciting feedback via a community survey at https://efmfeed.verintefm.com/se/0A88D4C30052D625. Comments can also be shared at upcoming School Board meetings or sent to redistricting@henrico.k12.va.us.  Based on present and projected enrollment data, seven scenarios are being considered to address capacity issues and align school feeder patterns. All scenarios are preliminary, and no decisions have been made. These scenarios are listed with the main school being addressed, along with others that may be affected.

 Elementary school scenarios:

  • Jackson Davis Elementary School (with potential impacts to Ridge and Three Chopt elementary schools)

  • Ruby F. Carver Elementary School (with potential impacts to Maybeury Elementary School)

Middle school scenarios:

  • Quioccasin Middle School (with potential impacts to Tuckahoe and Pocahontas middle schools)

  • Hungary Creek Middle School (with potential impacts to Holman Middle School)

High school scenarios:

  • Douglas S. Freeman High School (with potential impacts to Godwin High School)

  • Henrico High School (with potential impacts to Hermitage and Highland Springs high schools)

  • J.R. Tucker High School (with potential impacts to Hermitage High School and Mills Godwin High School)

The School Board will review feedback during upcoming work sessions and meetings through November, and final decisions will be made Dec. 18. Keep up with any updates at henricoschools.us.
