The Henrico Education Foundation Board of Directors is proud to announce the appointment of Jennifer Boyle as new chief executive officer, following a comprehensive national search. Boyle brings to HEF a deep commitment to public education, a clear vision for expanding student opportunity and a strong alignment with the foundation’s mission to strengthen schools and improve outcomes.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jennifer Boyle as the next CEO of HEF,” said Delphine Hartsel, chair of the search committee. “Jennifer brings more than 25 years of nonprofit leadership experience, a proven track record of strategic growth and a deep commitment to community impact. Her ability to build strong partnerships, drive innovation and lead with purpose makes her the ideal leader to guide HEF into its next chapter. We are excited about the future under her leadership.”

Boyle most recently served as president and CEO of Junior Achievement of Central Virginia, where she led efforts to prepare students for success through financial literacy, career readiness and entrepreneurship. She previously held executive roles at MENTOR Virginia and the Children’s Museum of Richmond, where she led strategic initiatives, expanded programming and strengthened organizational capacity.

“I’m excited to welcome Jennifer Boyle to the HEF team,” said Anne Poates, interim CEO of the Henrico Education Foundation. “It has been an honor to serve in this role during such an important time of transition. Our staff and partners have remained focused and committed to our mission throughout the search process, and I’m confident that Jennifer’s leadership will carry that momentum forward. Her experience, collaborative spirit and understanding of both the nonprofit and education sectors make her an exceptional choice to lead HEF into the future. I’m especially grateful to our dedicated staff — they’ve provided steady support and professionalism throughout this transition, and it’s been a pleasure to work alongside them.”

The Henrico Education Foundation plays a vital role in supporting Henrico County Public Schools by funding innovative programs, expanding learning opportunities and fostering community collaboration to ensure that all students are equipped for success.

“We are thrilled to continue our meaningful collaboration with the Henrico Education Foundation and are excited to welcome Jennifer Boyle as the new chief executive officer,” said Amy Cashwell, superintendent of Henrico County Public Schools. “With the launch of our new strategic plan, ‘Journey to 2030,’ we are more committed than ever to advancing programs that ensure every student in Henrico County Public Schools is life-ready.”

Boyle will officially assume her role as CEO on Sept. 15. In her early weeks, she will engage with staff, educators and community stakeholders to help shape the foundation’s strategic direction. Her initial focus will be on listening and learning to ensure that HEF continues to deliver impactful initiatives that meet the evolving needs of students and schools.
