Henrico County Public Schools and the Virginia Department of Health’s Richmond and Henrico Health Districts will hold four immunization clinics in August. HCPS students entering seventh or 12th grade can receive the Tdap, MenACWY and HPV vaccines required for school attendance at any of the four clinics, regardless of insurance status, and at no cost to families. Virginia requires students to be immunized against various illnesses to attend school.
What vaccines will be offered?
MenACWY vaccine: This vaccine is required for students entering seventh and 12th grade. Only rising seventh and 12th grade students may receive vaccinations during summer clinics.
Tdap vaccine: This vaccine is required for students entering seventh grade. Students ages 11 or older may be vaccinated.
HPV vaccine: Students ages 11 or older may be vaccinated. Parents and guardians may elect for their children not to receive the HPV vaccine. This decision is at the sole discretion of each parent or guardian.
When and where will the clinics be held?
All clinics are 9 a.m.-noon and will be held at four HCPS schools:

What do parents and guardians need to know?
Students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and bring an insurance card if they have one.
Parents and guardians should bring an ID.
Parents and guardians must complete a consent form for each participating student, either at the clinic location or ahead of time by downloading the form at the HPCS Health page. To download the form, go to www.henricoschools.us/health and click “Immunization Documents.”
Is registration required?
Registration is highly encouraged, but walk-in participants will be accommodated based on vaccine availability.
Are the clinics free?
Vaccines will be offered to HCPS students entering seventh and 12th grades, regardless of insurance status, at no cost to families. However, state law requires that students with private insurance or Medicaid provide this information at the time of immunization, so it is important that families with insurance bring their cards with them.
