With the start of a new school year, Henrico County Public Schools is introducing a new logo and reaffirming the core values that guide the division’s work under its new strategic plan, Journey to 2030.
Building on the school division’s longstanding commitment to excellence, these five core values shape Henrico County Public Schools’ culture and decision-making:
Student-focused: We put students at the forefront of our efforts.
Belonging: We embrace our differences and create a culture of belonging for all.
Collaboration: We work together to support meaningful learning, wellness and safety for all students and staff.
Innovation:
We value creativity, out-of-the-box thinking and openness to change to promote academic excellence.
Equity: We create opportunities so all students will engage in meaningful learning that meets their unique needs.
The new HCPS logo honors the division’s history while also representing a modern vision.
By continuing to feature Pocahontas, the logo acknowledges Henrico’s deep roots and the county’s rich history. At the same time, the updated color palette connects directly to the Henrico Learner Profile and the skills and attributes essential for students to thrive as lifelong learners, problem-solvers and leaders.
With this refreshed logo and shared core values, HCPS is reaffirming its promise to deliver relevant, high-quality learning experiences that help prepare all students to be life-ready.
