Yay of the Day recipient

YAY SHAWN HORST! Shawn Horst, an assistant principal for the Center for Innovation at John Rolfe Middle School, is today's "Yay of the Day" honoree! Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored him at Rolfe.

"Mr. Horst deserves a 'Yay' for his unwavering commitment to supporting both new and veteran teachers with whatever they need throughout the school day. If he doesn't have the answer, he works diligently to find it. He is always supportive of teachers' efforts and maintains a positive outlook, embodying the belief that 'We WILL succeed — there is no other choice.' Mr. Horst makes a significant positive impact by being a role model and a person of his word. His presence in the building is invaluable and his absence is keenly felt. Every day, he demonstrates trustworthiness and makes a positive impact through his actions."

"Mr. Horst has unwavering dedication to his team. He's always present with a friendly hello or a well-timed joke, and he brightens everyone’s day with his positive energy. His presence lifts not only his colleagues but also his students, inspiring them to reach for the stars. As a passionate advocate for students, he goes above and beyond, earning well-deserved praise for his commitment. Working alongside Mr. Horst has been an honor, as he continuously challenges teachers and students at the Center for Innovation to think outside the box. Every challenge is met with determination and innovation under his guidance."
