2025 Summer Testing - High School Students

Students Enrolled in a Summer Academy Course

Students enrolled in a Summer Academy course will have the opportunity to take their SOL tests on July 14, 2025, with expedited retakes available on July 16, 2025. For those enrolled in HVA/Virtual Virginia, online students will take their required SOL tests on Monday, July 14, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at their zoned summer academy site.

STAR (Summer Testing and Recovery):

For Students Not Enrolled in a Summer School Course (formerly Project Graduation)

 

Overview: This program is designed for high school students who have successfully completed a class but have not yet passed the associated test required for graduation. It provides an opportunity to review and retake tests in the following subjects: English 10 (WorkKeys Business Writing), English 11 (Reading SOL), Algebra 1 SOL, Biology SOL, World History 2 SOL, and Economics (W!SE test). This program is an excellent opportunity to ensure students meet all their graduation requirements.

When: There are three sessions available, each running from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. daily:

  • Session 1: Review from June 30 - July 1, with the test on July 2 (WorkKeys Business Writing only)

  • Session 2: Review from July 7 - 9, with the test on July 10 (WorkKeys Business Writing, Reading, Algebra 1, Biology, and World History 2 SOL tests; Economics W!SE test)

  • Session 3: Review from July 14 - 16, with the test on July 17 (Reading, Algebra 1, Biology, and World History 2 SOL tests; Economics W!SE test)

Where: Henrico High School. Transportation will be provided from the student’s HCPS home school.

Cost: There are no costs to students and families.

Registration Information: Parents/guardians of eligible students will receive an email through ParentSquare the first week of June from the Program Coordinator with the registration form.  The registration deadline is June 12, 2025.  Families may register for their preferred week; however, some tests will only be offered during specific sessions (see program details above).  Students may return for a second session if needed.  For more information, contact your student’s teacher, school counselor, administrator, or school testing coordinator.
