During the 2023-24 school year, HCPS Pupil Transportation will provide one RFID card and lanyard to eligible HCPS bus riders. Cards will be rolled out by school and program, and not all cards will be issued at once.  Once students are issued a card, please ensure that they have the card ready for daily use when boarding and disembarking the bus.   

What are the benefits of RFID cards for students? 

 Safety: Families and caregivers using the Edulog Parent Portal Bus App will know when and where their students board and disembark the bus.  See more information about the bus app.

Security: HCPS drivers will be able to easily identify students and which schools they attend.

Efficiency: Accurate student ridership numbers will help the school division optimize bus routes. 

In the future our RFID cards may be used for:

• School Nutrition Services. 

• Library Services. 

• Entrance door card readers.

• Student events and activities. 

• Clever QR code login.
