CTE SUMMER BUILDING TRADES for rising 10th and 11th graders. 

The summer building trades program provides an opportunity for students to gain real-world experience in various building trades. Upon successful completion of the course, students will earn one high school credit and have the opportunity to gain their OSHA-10 certification. Students will be able to explore multiple building trades, including carpentry, electricity, heating/air, masonry, and cabling/networking. In addition, students will be able to work in various settings around Henrico County, including commercial and residential projects.

When: 
June 2, 2025 - July 10, 2025 (Monday - Thursday)
No classes on June 19, 2025, or July 3, 2025
7:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Various locations of residential and commercial projects in Henrico County

There are no costs affiliated with Summer Building Trades.

General Information

The summer building trades program is only open to rising 10th and 11th-grade students presently enrolled in Henrico County Public Schools. There is no tuition or fee for this program. Upon successful completion of the course, students will earn one high school credit and have the opportunity to gain their OSHA-10 certification.

Summer Building Trades has an attendance requirement. Students who miss more than three days of this credited class will be unenrolled from the class with no credits earned.

Transportation by HCPS will begin on the first day, June 2, 2025. Bus schedules will be sent via email before the first day of class. Ensure your email address is clearly and correctly written on the registration form. When registering, students will be picked up from and returned to the closest high school you select. 

Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis and is limited to 50 students.

Applications will be processed on a first-come, first served basis. 

The withdrawal deadline is June 2, 2025, by 3:00 p.m.
