Our jaguars explored through different experiments, mystery readers, field trips, and even had Humphrey make visits to some classrooms! Today in 4th we made a model of the moon phases using our head as the earth! We were able to see the different amount of light reflected from the sun.

🥁 Our jaguars had a BLAST celebrating our end of quarter 2 accomplishments at our JAG JAM! We had so much fun playing minute to win it games, dance parties, and we even got to see JJ 🐆!!! We cannot believe that January has already came and went! Our jaguars had so much fun activities packed into a short month. We had kindness week, “ice fishing” experiments, and so much more! JES students are on a roll! We can’t wait to see all the wonderful things February will bring. 💙

The 4th graders recently visited the Virginia State Capitol and Valentine Museum! Our students had some much fun exploring and learning about the Capitol and Richmond during the Revolutionary War. Ms. Perkins is always building her relationships between her class, students, and the people around her. She is such an asset to our school community and we are so lucky to have her! Favorite thing to teach: “We are teaching the Revolutionary War right now and the students are really getting into learning all the ins and outs. We are working through different scenarios with Parliament and the King and learning how taxation worked and why the Colonists were fighting against it!”

December has truly flown by! We had a month filled with steam day activities to swimming classes to matching outfits and so much more! We are closing out this 2023 year with a lot of smiles and memories to carry us over to start 2024! 🙌🏼

❤️Indigenous People & Czech, Polish, and Italian Month ❤️
Over the months of October and November, our students had the opportunity to learn more about each heritage and all the amazing contributions that these two months represent and give to our society. 💙


Ozobots with Mrs. Scuderi today was one of the highlights of the week! 🤖
The students in Ms. Taylor’s 2nd grade class learned how to code the ozobot to complete a maze. Shoutout to Mrs. Scuderi for such an awesome lesson! 🙌🏼








The first graders took a field trip to the Children’s Museum last week! We 💙 watching the students explore and learn in hands on activities! Keep up the amazing work first graders 💙

The students competed in our Johnson spelling bee today! There was some tough competition among these competitors. Each student did such an amazing job!
