Objective:
Students will have their social and emotional needs met.

Facilitated training for staff equity teams in each elementary, middle, and high school to support the professional learning efforts around culturally responsive practices.
All HCPS staff participate in annual, ongoing training to support their ability to provide culturally responsive social-emotional learning services to students. All teachers receive either an initial onboarding or refresher training of the social-emotional learning curriculum used in their school (Elementary- Harmony; Middle- Second Step; High-CASEL aligned curriculum during 2021-22. Strong Teens beginning in 2022-23.) These trainings are offered virtually, in-person and in hybrid format and are provided by central and school level staff.
All HCPS staff complete annual SafeSchools training on Identifying, Understanding and Responding to Disruptive Behaviors; Cultural Competence and Racial Bias; and Diversity Awareness. Additionally, 100% of new faculty completed training on CREM
Student Support and Wellness staff provide turn-key training and resources to support social-emotional learning and community rebuilding to all building leaders during Leadership and principal meetings throughout the year, including resources for “Pressing the RESET Button.”
Professional learning opportunities and resources are provided via a Schoology Group for Social-Emotional Learning throughout the year to support teachers' growth in this area.
