Evidence 2020 – 2021

  • Began implementation of Trauma-Informed Care districtwide. This means that adults in the school community are prepared to recognize and respond to students who have been impacted by traumatic stress.

Evidence 2021 – 2022:

  • Approximately 400 HCPS employees have been trained in the use of Restorative Practices which offer an alternative to traditional disciplinary actions for misbehavior.

  • Expanded restorative practices training to include culturally responsive best practices and provided a supporting guidance manual for staff seeking to implement the practice.

  • 100% of new HCPS school faculty complete conflict resolution training as well as restraint & seclusion training.
