A boy looking at a coding mice game board

Our 1st grade students are diving into computer science with the Code & Go Robot Mouse and a variety of other fantastic STEM robots! 🐭🤖Thanks to the incredible efforts of the Twin Hickory PTA, we’ve got the tools to help our young learners build a strong foundation in coding and computational thinking. Our first-grade student uses visualization while coding to help the mouse find the cheese. By imagining the maze and planning the steps in his mind, he was able to program the mouse to navigate successfully. This hands-on, screen-free toy teaches kids about problem-solving, logic, and algorithmic thinking.
Problem-solving: Figuring out the best path for the mouse to find the cheese.
Logic: Understanding cause and effect through programming.
Algorithmic Thinking: Developing step-by-step procedures to solve problems efficiently.
Critical Thinking: Strategizing to achieve goals.
We’re empowering our Trailblazers to become the problem-solvers and innovators of tomorrow. Thank you for donating to the Twin Hickory PTA. Every bit helps to make learning fun at THES!!
