Veterans Day Celebration

Our annual Veterans Day assemblies will be held on Tuesday, November 11th. Information will be sent home with your child this week to provide further information.

As in past years, Kindergarten students will recognize Veterans Day in their classrooms with a more developmentally appropriate activity, in lieu of attending the assemblies. We are compiling a slideshow of veterans from our Kindergarten students’ families and friends to be shown to Kindergarten students on Veterans Day. If you would like to register to be included in the slideshow, please register by 11/3/25 using this link: https://forms.gle/5W6Me9RmbknNGrAi8l.

Veteran guests who would like to attend with students in first through fifth Grades can register by 11/3/25 using this link: https://forms.gle/TKxmr7kBmtrzJ6Gx6. Two assemblies will be held. Fifth graders will be at both assemblies as part of the fifth grade chorus. First and second grade students will attend an assembly starting at 8:00AM. Third and fourth grade students will attend an assembly starting at 9:15AM.  Questions can be directed to school counselors, Cari Malakoff (camalakoff@henrico.k12.va.us) and Kara Kalupanov khkalupanov@henrico.k12.va.us).

Student Lanyards

Students need to be wearing their badges to and from school every day. These badges are designed for security purposes, and consistent use helps prevent some safety concerns at the elementary level, including:

  • Students boarding the wrong buses

  • Difficulty accounting for students at dismissal

  • Delays in ensuring all students get home safely

Thank you for making student safety a top priority and for supporting daily badge use.

If a student loses their lanyards

 - Please request a new ID through

this link

. Mrs. Leonard and Mrs. Elkin make new IDs a few times a week. Please wait until the ID has been lost for a few days to ensure it is truly lost. If the old ID is found, it will no longer work and can be thrown away. The first replacement is free, after that, replacements are $5. Here is the

for payment.

Scheduled Safety Drills

We have no drills scheduled for this week.

Have a great week everyone!

Sincerely,
