Laptop/Charger Collection - Thurs/Fri May 21st and 22nd

As the school year draws to a close, we are preparing for laptop and charger collection. Please review the details below, and thank you in advance for discussing the information with your student. This information will be shared with students through our morning announcements.

Pocahontas Laptop and Charger Collection

  • Laptop and Charger collection will occur on Thursday and Friday, May 21st and 22nd.

  • We will attempt to collect as many computers as possible on Thursday.

  • Students taking exams for 2nd, 4th, 6th and/or 8th block on Thursday or Friday will keep their computers until after they finish their last exam.

  • Friday, we will collect the remaining computers/chargers

  • Please have your student charge their computer before collection.

  • When students go through the collection process, the machine is turned on to check for any issues that may be repaired over the summer.

  • Students enrolled in HCPS summer programs or classes will receive stickers indicating their need to keep their computers/chargers.

  • If your student is NOT enrolled in a summer program and needs to keep their computer longer than next Thursday/Friday, please contact their grade level school counselor/admin.

  • As students move through the collection process, their computer and charger will be scanned. If they turn in a device that is not assigned to them, they will be informed.

  • After the collection is complete, we will contact the parents/guardians of students who have not submitted their chargers and/or computers.

  • We appreciate everyone's patience during device collection. Our staff will take their time to make sure items are carefully reviewed and scanned, ensuring our information is thorough and accurate.

Thank you for your support! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out!

Pocahontas is here to Help! - As the end of the school year approaches, our students may feel excited and anxious. Those feelings can manifest in many ways; some students may act out while others become withdrawn.

If your student is struggling in any way, our amazing school counselors, school psychologists, school social worker, and administrators are here to help. We can work with individual students and families to connect them with school and community resources. Through our partner Care Solace, students and families also have 24-hour access to a multilingual team to help research community mental health care options on your behalf that match your needs and preferences and quickly secure appointments for you. The service is FREE regardless of whether or not you have insurance.

If you have questions, concerns or need assistance, access Care Solace online at https://caresolace.com/site/henricocps or contact the school by calling (804) 364-0830. More details about Care Solace are below!

Working together, we can ensure a safe and strong end to the school year for all students.
