Herm Updates from Dr. Jackson

Autism Awareness Week 4/28-5/2

April is Autism Awareness month! Help us promote acceptance and inclusion for all Panthers this week with a special spirit week!

  • Monday: Wear tie dye or bright colors

  • Tuesday:  What are you passionate about?  Dress to show something you love!

  • Wednesday: Team up for INCLUSION (twin day)

  • Thursday: Dress up today in your most comfortable clothes (school appropriate)

  • Friday: Wear BLUE for Autism

Seat Time

As we approach the conclusion of the school year, it will be beneficial for parents to review your Panther’s attendance.  To earn credit for each course, students must be “in the seat” more than 70% of the instructional time.  If your student missed a class more than 26 times this school year, they MAY NOT earn the credit for the class.

Students can remain after school (Monday-Thursday 4:00 - 5:30) and/or attend Saturday school (9:00 - 12:00) to recoup the missed time.  See Mrs. Ryan for additional information.

SOL Testing

Students will participate in the Science SOL on Wednesday.  We will operate in a Secure Testing Environment during the testing window from 9:00 - 12:55.

  • Students scheduled to test will report to their testing location by 9:00 Wednesday.

  • Students NOT Testing have two options:

    • Students may report to school and attend a study hall until testing is complete at 12:55

    • Students may remain at home and complete asynchronous assignments for all Day 2 classes

Congratulations in advance!
