Bus - ID and Lanyard Required
If you are a bus rider tomorrow morning, please make sure your child has their ID. If they do not, please drive to school and come into the office to get a replacement. Transportation is writing referrals when students do not have their ID on the bus.

We are excited to kick off the morning with a wonderful performance from our 4th graders, and families are welcome as doors open at 7:45 AM.

Friday, April 10 – House Achievement: Student Picnic
Students who meet their academic and behavior goals will enjoy a special picnic-style lunch outdoors, weather permitting.
Friday, April 10 – Greenwood Futsal Game (6:00 – 7:00 PM)
Our Greenwood futsal team will be back in action, and we would love to see our community come out and support them.
Monday, April 13 – Family Connections Day
Students are encouraged to bring in a family photo to share during morning meeting, which will be displayed on our “Belonging” bulletin boards. This is a special opportunity to celebrate the people who matter most and continue building a strong sense of community within our school.
Tuesday, April 14 – School of Pop After School Practice
All chorus members, actors, and stage crew should stay after school until 3:30 PM. Students may be removed from the school play if picked up late, and transportation is not provided. Your commitment to rehearsals is essential to a successful performance, and we appreciate families supporting students in being on time for pick-up.
Wednesday, April 15 – Leave a 5-Star Review

Thursday, April 16 – PRIMETIME RVA
We are excited to host Virginia’s one and only durable skills competition at Greenwood, impacting 48 of our 5th graders. Huge thanks to our Associate Principal, Ms. Eberhard, for organizing and facilitating. This experience empowers students to develop critical life skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, leadership, and perseverance.
Friday, April 17 – Math Award Ceremony
We can't wait to recognize our students who have shown a love for math. Students earn this award for growth, mastery, perseverance, problem-solving, and a positive math mindset. We are proud to celebrate their dedication and the confidence they continue to build in their mathematical thinking.
Friday, April 17 – READtoRUN Celebration – Silent Disco
We look forward to celebrating with our 5th graders for reading 100 books in each classroom with a brand-new pair of shoes at a Silent Disco. This is our 5th year with this partnership, and we are forever grateful. This event highlights the power of literacy while rewarding students for their commitment, consistency, and love of reading.
Saturday, April 18 - Sun Set Bike Ride and Pet Parade
Join us at 6:00 PM on the track at Greenwood Elementary School to cruise or walk one mile. After the ride, students can enjoy time on the playground with classmates and our Greenwood family. Families are welcome to bring a picnic-style dinner. This is a great opportunity for our community to come together.
