Sunday Greetings!

Final Week, Gators! We’re 84% to our goal — $29,645 raised of our $35,000 target! Every dollar helps support our teachers, students, and amazing PTA programs. Send in those envelopes this week — cash or check — and your child can earn fun prizes like keychains, stickers, and wristbands!  This is our one big fundraiser of the year, and it’s already made so much possible — teacher meals, staff stipends, our drumline and dance programs, and more.

Congratulations to our 2025 Teacher of the Year, 5th Grade Teacher Mrs. Koenig, and our 2025 Christie Award Winner, School Counselor Mrs. Melton!
Help us celebrate these two incredible educators by sending a quick email of appreciation or dropping off a note of thanks for all they do to support our students and school community.

2 pts – Performing at Sol Unity Day
3 pts – Perfect Attendance
3 pts – A/B Honor Roll
5 pts – All A Honor Roll

The Daily Report – X’s on Green Folder
Starting in 2nd quarter, our 2nd–5th grade teachers will use the RCA app exclusively to log X’s for minor and major discipline infractions. It is essential that families have access to the RCA app and enable notifications for both email and text messages to stay informed about your child’s accomplishments and any areas where support may be needed at home. Kindergarten and 1st grade will continue using the Daily Report with paper and pencil to record X’s for quarter 2.

Student RCA Login - CLICK HERE
We highly encourage all 2nd–5th grade Gators to show their parents how to log in to the RCA app through Clever on their computers. This is a great way for families to check house points, student infractions (starting quarter 2), school calendar, and leadership updates—keeping everyone connected and informed.

Monday, October 20 – Student & Teacher Holiday (Diwali)

Thursday, October 23 – School Board Performance

Thursday, October 23 – End of Quarter 1 Morning Clubs

Friday, October 24 – Sol Unity Day & Sol House Breakfast | House Happenings | Q1 Club Performances | End of Q1 |
Parents are invited to our first pep rally starting at 8:25 AM in the gym, featuring performances by Tubanos, ADL, Bucket Drumline, The Troop, The Heat, and our cheerleaders. If you plan to attend, please wear yellow!

Students who have earned 6 or more X’s or one major discipline referral will participate in a restorative circle lesson during the pep rally. This step helps students reflect on their behavior, understand how their actions impact others, and practice strategies to meet our school’s behavior expectations. By addressing challenges proactively, we help students build stronger relationships and develop the skills they need to succeed academically and socially.

We’ll kick off the day with our House Advisory Meeting in the library from 7:20–7:45 AM. If a student is unable to attend, an alternate representative will take their place. This is a very important leadership role in our school, so we encourage all representatives to arrive between 7:10 and 7:20 AM to ensure the discussion begins on time.

Monday, October 27 - ORFF Tryouts
ORFF tryouts will also begin at 7:20 AM in the music room. Click here to sign up for this special group that will perform at pep rallies and PTA evening events.

Students will have one minute to build the tallest structure, and we’ll award points to a house winner at each grade level. Students can practice for this competition during their morning choice time in the classroom. Keva Planks help strengthen problem-solving, creativity, and teamwork—skills that inspire innovation and perseverance. This is also a great family gift idea for the holiday season, and our top builders will advance to a countywide competition!

Thursday, October 30 – Trunk or Treat - Fall Carnival
Join us from 5:00–6:30 PM for our 10th annual celebration with DJ Amare keeping the vibes going until 7! We’re still looking for volunteers to decorate trunks and pass out candy—sign up today! Alumni are welcome to come back and join the fun!  Don’t forget: students will walk through the candy line once, and parking will be limited—so arrive early! Please keep sending candy in to support this incredible tradition! 10 years!

Friday, October 31 – Mentor Munchies
English Second Language students and their student mentors will enjoy a special breakfast from 7:20–7:45 AM. This program has been wonderful in helping our ESL students feel welcomed and valued from day one. It builds meaningful connections, supports language development, and helps students feel a sense of belonging in our school community right away. This is another amazing program made possible through our Unity Drive funds.

Friday, October 31 – Book Character Extravaganza
All students are encouraged to dress up as their favorite book characters for the school day. Students will parade around the building to show off their costumes from 7:50–8:00 AM. This is our 10th year celebrating this fun tradition! Thank you for helping ensure all costumes are school-appropriate.

Friday, October 31 – Q1 Academic Awards Ceremony
Teachers will host Q1 Academic Awards in the classroom, celebrating All A’s, A/B Honor Roll, and Perfect Attendance. We encourage families to hit the “appreciate” and “comment” buttons on the Teacher’s Friday communication to celebrate the success of our Gators! Recognizing students for grades and attendance reinforces a culture of achievement and pride. Celebrating these successes helps motivate all students and strengthens the positive climate of our school.

PTA Spirit Cart
A huge thank-you to our amazing PTA for continuing to offer House spirit wear items on our spirit cart each Friday! This is a great way for students to show their House pride and celebrate their Greenwood spirit.

Gifted Identification Window
