Lou Monger Science and Nature Fund: This year The Lou Monger Science and Nature Fund is pleased to bring to our CUBS “Books! The Magic is Real” by The Magic of Joe Romano! The goal of the assembly is to get kids excited about reading. This high-energy show mixes reading, comedy, and magic! “Books! The Magic is Real!” will have our cubs running to the library, eager to check out some summer reads. How does he do it? By using amazing magic to highlight the plots and characters of famous children’s books! Many magicians claim to do this, but Joe will bring it to another level. The magic effects our cubs will see looks like movie special effects come to life!
We hope our cubs have FUN and perhaps even develop a DEEPER love of reading!!
This assembly will be presented May 20 in honor of a former Glen Allen Elementary kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Monger. Our friend and co-worker was an educational dynamo so when she passed away in 2002 a fund was set up to introduce students of Glen Allen Elementary to different aspects of science and learning.
