The wait is finally over, Cubs! We have missed you incredibly, and the entire team is ready to welcome you back home to The Trail. To officially launch the new school year, we invite all of our families to join us for the 2026-2027 Cub Nation Kick Off on Thursday, August 20, 2026. This is your chance to meet your teachers, explore your classrooms, and gather all the essential information you need for a successful year ahead.
To ensure everyone has a great experience, we have structured the afternoon with specific times for different grade levels.
For our incoming Kindergarten families, the afternoon begins early. Kindergarten teachers will host short, informative presentations in their individual classrooms starting promptly at 2:00 pm. Following the presentation, classrooms will remain open for families to explore, ask questions, and get comfortable with the new environment until 3:00 pm.
For families with students in grades 1 through 5, the activities shift to the late afternoon. Teachers in these grade levels will offer two identical presentation sessions, one at 4:00 pm and another at 5:00 pm, allowing you flexibility if you have multiple children in different grades. Classrooms for grades 1 through 5 will remain open for visitors and walkthroughs the entire time from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
In addition to classroom visits, please make sure to stop by the gym for our comprehensive Information Fair, which will be running throughout the event. This is a one-stop shop designed to help your family prepare for day one. You can stop by the transportation table to finalize bus routes, learn about afterschool opportunities with the Henrico Education Foundation, explore LLAMPS education within Henrico Schools, and connect with various community partners. We will also have staff on hand to provide direct assistance with the PowerSchool Parent Portal, ensuring you have seamless access to your student's academic updates.
We cannot wait to see the hallways filled with energy, laughter, and Cub pride once again. Mark your calendars for August 20, and let's get ready to make the 2026-2027 school year our best one yet.
