Code of Virginia Section 6 Code of VA 22.1-253.13:4 states that one of the following options must be met:

• AP, Honors, IB, or Dual Enrollment Coursework or

• Earn a CTE credential (as defined by VA Board of Education) or

• High Quality Work-Based Learning experience (as approved by VA Board of Education)

Earning a career and technical education credential, when required, could include the successful completion of an industry certification, a state licensure examination, a national occupational competency assessment, the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery, or the Virginia workplace readiness skills assessment.
