YAY CHENIA SIMS! Chenia Sims, a social worker at Harvie Elementary School and Holman Middle School, is today's Yay of the Day honoree! Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored her recently at Harvie!

"Chenia has helped me in so many ways and continues to push me to become a better version of myself. When I shared that I was going back to school, she became one of my biggest cheerleaders. Her encouragement and belief in me have meant more than she knows. Professionally, Chenia is always willing to help me support our families. She keeps me informed, communicates with me and works alongside me as a team to ensure our families receive the support and resources they need. Her dedication as a social worker is truly inspiring. Ms. Sims is a wonderful person, an amazing social worker and a big inspiration in my life.

"Her commitment to serving all families is especially admirable. She works diligently with families who speak different languages and never allows language or any other barrier to stand in the way of making someone feel welcome and supported. She finds ways to communicate, connect and ensure that every family receives the assistance they need. Her work may happen behind the scenes at times, but the impact she makes is seen and felt throughout our entire school community."
